This is a photo of my nan and her guardian angel. Some say it has the shape of Holy Mary. A few months after this photo she passed over and it wasn't until then that I noticed an image in the top right hand corner above her head. It is a bright glowing light on a cotton pillow cover. It reassures me and I share for the sake of sharing :-)

Recently, some have expressed an interest in me posting some info. & pictures about the Hand of Fatima Dance Tribe from when I was a member....

Here's the condensed version:
In the 1960's, Jemila brought Tribal Style BellyDance to America...
After performing for several years with the Ringling Bros. Circus she and her husband, a fantastic drummer himself, decided to settle down in the San Francisco Bay Area.Jemila began a school of dance and it was not long before she created a dance troupe. She named it Bal Anat...
Soon they became permanent fixatures at the Northern California Renaissance Faire at the Turkish Coffee Tents...

Years later, members of Bal Anat each created there own troupes respectively:
Carolena createdFatChance BellyDance;Jon createdHahbi Ru; and Rossah created theHand of Fatima...

Ironically, I had grown up with Suhaila, Jemila's daughter and we went to dance school together as little girls. I didn't realize for quite sometime that the MOTHER of the Hand of Fatima here in Santa Cruz, was indeed Jemila...
Ah, 'tis a small world after all.

Suhaila Salimpour has since created an international dance school with an enormous following.

Eventually, Rossah felt it was time to take the *show* to Vegas...Only, none of us could follow.Our troupe has since disbanded and have scattered to all 4 corners of the world. But the MAGIC we created lives on...
